The admissions to the Social Welfare hostels and the diet administration now happens through Jnanabhumi. The automation of these functions through Jnanabhumi, impacting 3.00 Lakh children spread across around 300 hostels, was preceded by a comprehensive revamping of the policy framework and the associated process re-engineering. While automation of the admission process has simplified the application process, the automation of diet administration helps monitor the compliance with policy stipulations, of the hostels in delivering the food items to the hostel boarders.
A similar exercise was undertaken to bring about reforms in the Social Welfare and other Welfare Residential Schools. The automation of the screening test, allotment of schools, admission and diet administration processes through Jnanabhumi, aligned with the renewed policy framework, has positively benefitted 3.00 Lakh children, spread across around 400 residential institutions of all welfare departments.
